Day in and day out….

It’s been a while since I’ve written a blog post. I am very very bad about this. I do have to vent however…

Yesterday, as I was walking home from work I got mugged in the streets of Seattle. Seriously…living in NYC for the last 6 years in the village (sometimes can be super sketch) and I have never gotten robbed or mugged. This is the first!! Not only did I felt so violated, the feeling of being unsafe was horrendous! Luckily, Seattle PD came promptly and did all the police report jazz. The officer even took me home. That would have never happened in NYC. Although I had a horrible evening, my girlfriend came to the rescue! She was visiting Seattle and brought me beautiful jewels!!! check it out!

In conclusion, a bad evening can always be good with great friends and family! Cheers!

2012 in reflection…

2012 was not only an amazing; it was a year of learning. I was able to live in Siem Reap Cambodia for a few months working with an organization to help stop human trafficking. Through this journey, I’ve met some of the most amazing friends that have made my journey seamless. This volunteer opportunity opened my eyes to what the real world was about. The real basic necessities of life wasn’t available, i.e. clean water, shelter, food, healthcare and the likes. Things that I have taken for granted.

I miss Cambodia so much but it’s definitely a place that I do not want to live in. I highly recommend Cambodia as a travel spot – it has some of the most amazing beaches, culture and temples. Life in pictures – my latter part of 2012.

Coming back to the states, I spent time with loved ones and finally packed my bags and moved back west. 6 years in NYC has made me a strong and independent individual that I truly believe nowhere else could’ve gave me such an invaluable experience. In the last part of 2012, I rekindled with old friends that I truly appreciate they’re still in my life after so many years. Cheers to old friends, new friends, peace, happiness, and a life of learning. 2012 was amazing but 2013 will be even better!  =) This was my life in pictures (missing a ton of photos from Cambodia – will find it and upload soon).

Goodbye 2012 and HELLO 2013

DIY – Members Only Red Leather Jacket with Triangle Studds

I was shopping in Portland a couple of weeks ago and came across this amazing  Members Only motorcycle style jacket in red. Of course with being super creative lately, I decided to stud it up with triangle brass studs. Check this out.

Winter Red

I put the studs at a random to fill up the pockets lining. You can definitely use difference sizes and colors as well.

Happy DIY!!!

Sneak Peek – Haley Steffan (Lush Model)

Since I moved to Seattle, the pool of models is just not like NYC. I’m not saying there are not great models out here, but it’s just different. I’ve found Haley through a ‘non-local’ photographer that I worked with. She’s only been modeling for the last 3 – 4 months but she’s nailing it. Check this girl out.

Now the Behind the Scene photos!!

Beautifying the model! I was seriously dying in this photo.

Talented MUA Sofia Lyons is making Haley pretty!

Working hard!

An editorial spread from this shoot will be out soon! Thank you for reading.

Black Friday Shopping and beyond..

I know most of you are running down to the department stores to pick up items on sale. Well as most of my friends know, I avoid crowds at all cost. I think living in NYC in the last few years had made me into an introvert (ironically). I like to shop in peace so anywhere with a lot of people I tend to stray away. So, being in Seattle this year I have decided to go vintage/consignment shopping. Here are some great finds I was able to get in Capitol Hill, Seattle.

Image

Amazingly soft and beautifully printed sweater for $15! This was an amazing score!

Image

Ok…I have to say that this was my best buy and I was truly fortunate. It was tucked in the back of the store on a rack that no one can even find. This is a lightly used Celine Chevron skirt! It’s so amazing. Also, it was $35. You cannot beat this.

As I was making my way home, I stopped by the Zebra Club in Pike Place and they were having a 40% off of anything black in the store! This is my dream sale as I wear predominately black. The Zebra Club carries a variety of brands, but what caught my eyes were their in house brand. Check out this amazing leather blazer!

Happy Shopping!! Don’t forget about Cyber Monday today!! ❤

A Happy Thanksgiving Meal

Hello there loves. For Thanksgiving this year, we decided to make Thomas Keller’s Roast Salt Chicken instead of a traditional turkey. You can find his recipe http://www.carnivoreandvegetarian.com/2011/10/perfect-roasted-chicken-thomas-keller-style.html

Image

This chicken was not only salty, it was tender and juicy! So delish. Instead of using just regular salt, I mixed up pink salt and sea salt!

ImageMy darlling little deviled quail eggs.

Image

Our complete meal consisted of the brussel sprouts, gravey, mashers and stuffing in addition to our salt chicken and quail eggs. It was an indeed Happy Thanksgiving!!

From my kitchen to yours! Let me know if you have any questions.

Cheers,

JT
